AI friendly cluster pages

We’ve been researching how AI has changed search, with SEO being impacted by GEO (Generative Search Engine). One way to increase the chance of your website being referenced by AI, is by adding cluster pages on a pillar topic.

What is a pillar page?

A pillar page is like the hub in a hub-and-spoke model where the pillar page covers the high-level topic thoroughly, while the linked cluster pages go deeper into specific areas.

Each of these examples is inside a main ‘pillar’, in this case Business Resource Centers, with long-form text and a medley of content formats (templates, video, infographic, planners).
This improves search engine visibility and helps AI-powered engines better understand and reference financial content. They work best when built around a core business banking theme that’s relevant to customers and prospects, like business financing, cash flow management, starting and growth and expansion.

How a pillar page helps generate leads

  • Search engines and AI tools prioritize structured, authoritative content.
  • AI/search engine can better build a topic map or graph of the site if there are clear pillars and clusters
  • A well-linked cluster helps distribute SEO value as the pillar helps pull in authority.
